Format and regulations

The 2014 Florida Winter Series operated as a single-make racing category, with all entrants using identical Tatuus FA010 chassis powered by a 1.4-liter Fiat-FPT 414TF turbocharged engine delivering 190 horsepower. The cars employed rear-wheel drive configuration via a Sadev six-speed sequential gearbox with limited-slip differential, and incorporated no electronic driving aids such as traction control or anti-lock brakes to emphasize raw driver ability. Each of the four weekend meetings followed a structured format spanning three days, beginning with four one-hour free practice sessions on Friday to allow drivers to acclimate to the car and track. Saturday featured two 20-minute qualifying sessions and Race 1, while Sunday hosted Races 2 and 3, each scheduled for 30 minutes plus one additional lap. The series awarded no points, prioritizing driver development, race wins, and experiential learning over championship accumulation. Qualifying procedures utilized two 20-minute sessions: the first to set the grid for Race 1, awarding pole position to the fastest qualifier, and the second to set the grid for Race 3. Race 2 employed a reverse grid for the top eight finishers from Race 1 to promote close racing and overtaking opportunities.
